We understand that the cost of a funeral can cause worry and stress at a difficult time. This can be a factor when choosing a funeral director. We appreciate that just discussing the costs are hard.

We aim to organise a funeral that is professional and dignified, without putting somebody in a worrying financial position.

We are open and transparent about our costs and services. We arrange professional and dignified services that fit your needs.

We will always give a full, written estimate broken down individually at the time of arrangement so you will know the full true costs before agreeing to anything.
STANDARDISED PRICE LIST

All funeral directors are legally required to publish this Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary).

ATTENDED FUNERAL (funeral director’s charges only)

This is a funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.

Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements £495.00
Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director’s premises) into the funeral director’s care £175.00
Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities. The deceased person will be kept at [both] the funeral director’s [branch premises] [and at other] [non-branch premises] £275.00
Providing a suitable coffin – A simple coffin, lined, upholstered with engraved nameplate £195.00
Viewing of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the funeral director (where viewing is requested by the customer) £95.00
At a date and time you agree with the funeral director, taking the deceased person direct to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles of the funeral director’s premises) in a hearse or other appropriate vehicle £365.00
UNATTENDED FUNERAL

This is a funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person, but they do not attend the burial or cremation itself.

For a new grave, you will also need to pay for the plot; for an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee. In addition, the cemetery may charge a number of other fees

ADDITIONAL FUNERAL DIRECTOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

This funeral director may be able to supply a range of optional, additional products and services, or to arrange (on your behalf) for a third party to supply them. Examples include:

Additional transfers of the deceased person’s body (e.g. to their home, to a place of worship etc.) (price per transfer) £120.00

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.

[1] This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.

[2] In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.

Payment Terms
We request the full cost of the ‘Direct Cremation Funeral’
is made within 72hrs of making arrangements.

Arrangement of Additional Services & Choices

You may wish to add a particular service or make choices to add to the funeral arrangement.

We always provide a written estimate at the time of arrangement, so you are fully aware of all the costs before entering into any agreement.

Disbursement Costs

The disbursement costs are the necessary fees that are paid on the clients behalf to 3rd parties needed to complete a funeral.
These are added to the Funeral Directors costs for the final balance.

 

What are the Disbursement Costs?

Depending on the funeral type, service choice they can include:

Crematorium, Doctors Cremation Forms, Minister, Church, Organist, Verger, Gravedigger, Cemetery Costs, Interment Fees, Out of Area Fee, headstone removal.

We have Methodist, Free Methodist, United Reformed, Quaker and Baptist Churches locally. We cannot break down all these costs individually. Should you require a service in another local church, we will find the accurate costs and provide this to you beforehand.

Other Burial Grounds
There are other churchyards locally.
We cannot detail all the different costs but should you require a burial at another churchyard, we will find
the accurate costs beforehand.

 

Preparation of Grave in churchyard

This fee is for the gravedigger to dig and prepare a grave plot. The cost may vary slightly depending on the depth prepared.

Please Note

The cost of a burial elsewhere will need to be added to a normal church service fee.

Some cemeteries also charge an additional fee if the person did not live within the council boundary. This can be double or triple the cemetery fees.

We can provide an accurate cost at the time of need depending on personal circumstance.

The above lists are not exhaustive and there are at times slight discrepancies and changes to these fees.

Coffin Choices

When the ‘Classic Funeral’ has been chosen, you can have a choice of any particular coffin.
We generally offer a choice of 4 but can provide any type you may wish to choose

All of our coffins are expertly constructed and fitted out appropriately with all the relevant and proper coffin furniture.

They are also properly lined, fitted and upholstered with a quality interior. Finished with an engraved nameplate.
